Getting closer....

We have 4 full buses going to Washington DC!  Some advice for all of the travelers:
  • On Brightsparks' "Bulletin Board" they have posted  some trip information/rules.  New items will continue to be added...
  • 4th payment is due June 15, 2016 and trip FINAL payment is due August 15, 2016.  All trips must be paid in full by August 15, 2016.
  • All fundraisers will end June 10 - when school is complete.  This means Meijer Community Rewards as well..
  • We will be making 2 payments to Brightspark BEFORE your 4th and 5th payments are due.  1st payment will be sent beginning of May, so Brightspark will update their accounts before June 15 and final individual fundraiser payment will be sent in beginning of July, All moneys from fundraising will be applied to your accounts by August 15.  Any additional individual money raised for their trip will be put toward "spending money".

Only 8 months left before the great experience of Washington DC!  The committee is happy to report that we have all 4 buses filled.  Those of you who aren't signed up: don't fret as Brightspark is willing to start a wait list for the "just in case" some aren't able to make it to the trip.

Upcoming fundraisers:
  • Bulb dates: 3/1-3/25/2016. More information to come
  • Boardwalk Subs Saturday, March 19 - all day every purchase will have 20% go towards our General Fund.  No flyers needed...just go in and eat!
  • Baskets: 3/28-4/15
  • Sobie: 4/25-5/16​
  • Scrip:  We will be doing Scrip orders yet until June 1.  From June 2 - Sept 30 only Scrip Now be ordered. No Physical cards will be ordered after June 1.  The money "earned" from the Scrip Now during the summer months will be put towards your money for spending in DC.

It's time for another fundraiser for you individual accounts!  LET'S HAVE SOUPS AND SANDWICHES!  We are doing a fundraiser through Frandale Subs (which are AMAZING) for this month.

Start Date:  Monday, January 25th, 2016
End Date:   Monday, February 8th, 2016 - Please be sure all order forms are submitted to the MS office by this date, 3:00pm
Pick-up:  Thursday, February 18th, 2016 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm (MS cafeteria)

Cost:  $4.00 for subs ($1.90 earned), soups and garlic bread ($1.25 earned). $8.00 for cinnamon rolls($2.25 earned).

​Just like the title says...it's chicken for dinner.  Ok...maybe just the wings, but where do you go for the BEST wings ever!?  How about Buffalo Wild Wings?  There is a General Fund Fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings on Alpine Ave. set for January 25. during the hours of the restaurant.  It is valid for Dine-in OR Carry-out.  Just present the certificate at time of order and 20% of your sales will go towards our general fund!

Holidays are approaching!

It's almost that time of year when we get together with family and put on the "fat pants" and indulge in turkey, stuffing, ham, cranberries, rolls, corn, sweet potatoes, and pies... oh the pies!!! But after slaving the day before Thanksgiving in the kitchen the last thing you want to do is to make supper for Wednesday night!  Don't worry... we got you covered!  We have 3 different pizza places that are willing to participate in our general fund fundraiser night!  There is the Pizza Hut on Alpine or Standale, Uccello's in Standale, or BC Pizza located on the corner of Lake Michigan Dr. and Covell next to Rite Aid.

November 25 choose from the following:

Welcome back to school! Summer is done and the new school year  is here and so are more funding opportunities!  We have ideas floating around but there are a couple that we have for sure! 

Individual Fundraising Opportunities
Mum Basket and Fall Bulbs.  50% of all basket and bulb sales are directed to the designated account.  Cost as follows:

  • 10" Basket = $12.00 (White, Red, Yellow)
  • 14" Basket = $28.00 (White, Red, Yellow)
  • Decorative Kale = $7.00
  • Bulbs = $8.00

Don't forget that THIS WEDNESDAY, August 26 from 12p-10p, the Ice Cream Garage is willing to help us in our fundraising for the General Fund.  The General Fund is to help supply the buses with first aid kits, water bottles and also helps cover other "behind the scene" things to make this trip work! Half way through summer... let's start thinking school!

I know that's not what you want to hear, but let's face it.... summer is flying by!  We are so excited to announce a couple new eateries that agreed to help us in  raising money for our General Fund.

I Scream... You Scream
We all know the rest is, "we all scream for ice cream" and that exactly it!  The Ice Cream Garage in Standale is willing to kick off the school year.  They will be hosting an event on Wednesday, August 26, from 12p-10p.  A flyer is pending approval of ICG, and we will get that to you as soon as it's approved. You will be able to print it or you can show in on your mobile device/tablet.

Fall Weather Calls for Warm Food
Another event will be held at Panera Bread in Standale on Monday, September 21, from 4p-8p.  Click here for a copy of the flyer that also can be redeemed via print or showing on mobile phone/tablet.  Fall weather = hot soups and sandwiches... where else go but Panera?? Take the family and tell the friends.

Just Putting it out There
In case you don't have enough to talk to friends about, throw out this link to them that takes them to the "Go Fund Me" page!  Here again money can be raised here for our General Fund which helps pays for things like: printing, water bottles, postage (I know right... "What is  postage?"), first aid kits, and other miscellaneous things to make this trip AMAZING!

We have filled 3 buses, oh but wait! There's a 4th bus! However, before we can use it we have to have 32 students/parents signed up on the wait list before we can use it.  Please talk to your friends, their friends/parents and get them to sign up! We don't want anyone to miss out on this amazing opportunity!

Load 'em up!!!
ONLY 4 SEATS LEFT for all three buses!  No fear, however, that's because we and Brightspark will start a waiting list once these are filled 4 seats are filled.  Don't let this discourage you from signing up, we want everyone who wants to go to be able to go!  We still want you to continue to sign up and give your students a trip with a lot of learning!

Sobie Fundraiser Update:
Thank you for all who participated in the fundraisers so far.  You and your friends/families contributions to the trip are appreciated more than we can say! Your kids will appreciate them too!
