Washington DC Bound!!!
PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVE A CURRENT 5th OR 6th GRADER
Every other year, Kenowa Hills Middle School offers the opportunity for 7th and 8th graders to experience Washington DC. If you are going to have a 7th or 8th grade student in the school year of 2020/2021, your student (and you) are invited to travel with us to our Nations’s Capital. The Washington DC Committee has been busy planning an unforgettable trip. We will explore places like: The U.S. Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery, Gettysburg, Mount Vernon, and many more. The trip is planned for November 4th-9th, 2020. We are booking our trip through Brightspark Travel, who organizes trips for educational purposes.
Please join us for an informational parent meeting on March 19th at 7:00 pm in the Kenowa Hills Middle School auditorium. We will be discussing upcoming fundraisers, the trip itinerary, and answering any questions that you may have. We are looking forward to a great turnout for this exciting adventure. On the most recent trip, (fall of 2019) we filled 4 charter busses with almost 200 students and adults. It truly is an experience of a lifetime!
If you would like to start raising funds right away, there will be World’s Famous Chocolate Bars available at the meeting for $60 a box. Half of that will go directly into an account for your child to help pay for the cost of the trip. Please pay by cash or check payable to Kenowa Hills Washington DC Trip. If this is an opportunity that you would like your child to have, but are not able to afford the trip, please contact your elementary or the middle school office.

**Please do know that bus 3 and 4 are going to be considered "peanut free" because there are passengers riding along with a nut allergy. Be considerate if you have snacks packed along that contains nuts. If you happen to take snacks with nuts products, please wait until you are outside to consume them.
We look forward to seeing you November 9 at 5:30 at the Middle school parking lot. Please remember if you are leaving you car parked at the school while we are gone, please park it towards the back of the lot.

Good Morning DC Goers,
I know some of you had some concerns regarding the room assignments. I just want to let you know that I am working with Brightspark rep to get the rooms changed. I will have the updated list here on the website by the end of next week. Please allow me time to get the "situations" fixed. I will let you know when they are posted, along with the rest of the papers that were in the packet for those of you who were not able to attend the meeting. Thank You, Rebecca Troeger

Hello Washington DC Traveler's and Parents!
6 weeks from today we will be boarding onto our trusty coaches to begin our travels towards Washington DC! Hope everyone is getting excited about learning what goes on at our nation's capital! Most of the paperwork all has been done, but we need you to attend one more meeting! October 11 at 7pm in the Middle School gymnasium is our final mandatory meeting for all going to the trip. Please consider bringing snacks that can be divided among the buses and that way we have something for the goers to snack on. Things individually wrapped work the best (like things you may put into your student's (or your own) lunches.) I have included General information for you to read through and it will hopefully answer any questions you may have..
Again...Please don't forget about the meeting,
